Civic Launch the Traffic Signal Bubble Pole
The Traffic Signal Bubble Pole has been designed and manufactured by Civic and offers all the benefits of the standard traffic signal pole with the additional advantage of being able to carry out all cable terminations at the ground level thus eliminating the need for engineers to work at heights. Plastic coating is extremely durable and offers anti-vandal and anti-graffiti protection. The diameter of the pole is designed to fit into standard NAL retention socket and has 114mm diameter at top and bottom pre-drilled to suit standard traffic signal heads. Dundrum Town Centre - October Floods
On Tuesday 25th October our facilities support service division dispatched a team of mobile engineers to Dundrum Town Centre responding to calls from H&M, Zara, Massimo Dutti and Ernst Jones. All four stores had experienced severe flooding which left the stores being unable to trade. Our team quickly assessed the damage and put into effect our "Store Disaster Recovery Plan". This is a plan that is routinely practiced by our operations team in Head Office to ensure our clients experience a minimum loss of trading hours should they have a major disaster within one or more of their stores. Civic dispatched personnel to deal with the store managers and liaised with insurance assessors. Once the stores had been fully electrically assessed by our electricians, the power was returned and the lights switched back on. The clean-up team then began removing all water damaged items i.e. carpets, wooden floors etc... and installing industrial strength dehumidifiers to help with the drying process. All stores were able to reopen for business the following morning. We would like to thank all of our clients for their patience and continued support during that challenging 24 hour period.

Intertraffic 2010
March 2010 witnessed the return of Intertraffic, Amsterdam. Civic Group shared a stand with our long time partners Traffic Tech Pty Ltd and also seen the beginning of a new partnership with Traffic Innovations Pty Ltd. Traffic Innovations is an Australian based company that develops Innovative Technology Solutions for Intelligent Transportation Systems. The show seen the launch of their i-Stud Vehicle Detector and i-Stud Wireless Train Detector both of which have been designed and developed from the ground up by the guys at Traffic Innovations
At the core of the iStud Wired product range are sensors and in road warning lights that can be connected to a 2 wire common cable for receiving power and data. The iStud Vehicle Detector uses Innovative Technology to replace the traditional inductive loop.
A magnetic sensor is used to detect vehicle presence, speed and classification. This data is transmitted back in real time to a Line Interface Card (LIC) that can be used to activate a traffic light controller or forwarded on to a monitoring centre for traffic analysis. The advantage of an iStud Vehicle detector system over any other detector or loop system is the additional data that is collected, reduced installation costs and significantly reduced damage to the pavement. The iStud Wireless Rail Level Crossing System is a low cost, low power, fail safe, remotely monitored, wireless solution that includes, an intelligent track side rail stud, wireless warning system (solar powered), vehicle detector and In Road Warning Lights. The detector uses trackside mounted sensors to detect the presence of trains and has a minimum operational life of 10 years.
The iStud Wireless Train detector simplifies installation of trackside train detectors by eliminating cabling and trenching, significantly reducing installation and maintenance costs. Unique to the iStud warning system is an advanced warning to the train driver that the level crossing has been activated or a vehicle has not cleared the level crossing.
Information on all of the above is available on the Highways Support Services section of our website.
The show was a great success and has generated a lot of interest in both our existing and new product range. We would like to thank all of you who took the time to visit our stand and look forward to doing business with you in the future.

Intertraffic Amsterdam 2008
Traffic Tech has expanded its presence into Europe with the launch of the NEW Tactile Switch Pad (TSP) at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2008. Over 1,000 people visited the stand and most were impressed and interested in the new method of pedestrian detection.
The new Switch Pads are available in a number of configurations and surface finishes and have the ability to detect various traffic types, from detecting the presents of a pedestrian waiting at a Pedestrian-crossing through to being able to detect the direction that a bicycle is travelling on a priority bicycle lane. The cost of a switch pad, including the Nortech controller, (providing directional detection) will be far less than that of a traditional Infra Red or Video detectors.
Accor SA in France has, until now, been the only European distributor of Traffic Tech's products and has been using the EzyLoops Systems pre-formed Surface-mounted vehicle detection loops in car-park installations since 2004 with great success. The new switch pads will provide car park customers with a non-invasive and cost effective alternative to the installation of (2 saw-cut loops + duel channel detector) for directional counting and boom-gate operations. Sales of the Tactile Switch Pads in Europe are set to multiply with distribution agreements ready to be signed in Holland , Spain and Germany.
Civic Group (Ireland) and Lochwynd (UK and Dubai) were co-exhibitors at Intertraffic and have now come on line with the manufacture of the EzyLoops Systems, Sub-surface loops and are also the exclusive distributors of the Pedestrian, Bicycle and Vehicle switch pads.
Sales of EzyLoops systems, Sub-surface loops and of the new switch pads is set to far exceed sales forecasts in the first year in the UK and Ireland . Trial installations of the loops are already planned and both companies are working together to obtain "type approval" for EzyLoops.
